Account Deletion
Last updated: July 9, 2026
You can permanently delete your Unloop account and the personal data associated with it at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed.
Delete from the app
- Open Unloop and go to Settings > Account and Data.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account is deactivated immediately and you’re signed out - it’s no longer accessible to you or anyone else.
Can’t access the app?
Email HQ@theunloop.com from the email address on your account, with the subject line “Delete my account.” We’ll process the request within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Unloop is a self-help wellness tool based on CBT principles, not a medical device, clinical therapy service, or substitute for professional mental health treatment. Everything below is data from your own use of the app - not clinical or medical records held on your behalf.
- Your profile (name, email, and personalization details)
- Self-assessment responses (PHQ-9 / GAD-7 screening scores)
- Your CBT session history - thoughts, distortions, and reframes you’ve worked through in the app
- Journaling insights extracted from your entries (we never store raw journal text or voice recordings, deleted or not)
- Club and community activity (group challenges, accountability connections, nudges)
What we may retain, and for how long
- Deactivation happens immediately; your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
- A limited amount of data may be kept beyond that where the law requires it - for example, records needed for security or fraud prevention - and only for as long as legally necessary.
- If you opted in to “Share Anonymous Usage Data,” the aggregated, non-identifying analytics collected under that setting can’t be linked back to you and aren’t affected by account deletion.
