Your roadmap
What a challenge actually is, the four kinds you get, and why today's is the one you were given.
What a challenge is
A challenge is something you do, not something you read. Most take a few minutes. Each one is a real technique from cognitive behavioural therapy, habit science or physiology, shaped into a single thing you can finish today.
You get a small number each day, each worth points. They are short on purpose. The aim is that you actually do it today, not that it looks impressive.
Challenges that break negative thinking
These put a thought against the evidence instead of arguing with it. When a thought like “I am not good enough” keeps coming back, the challenge traces where it came from and tests it against what actually happened.
This is cognitive restructuring, and it is the technique most strongly tied to good therapy outcomes. Catch the thought is the one you will meet first.
Challenges that break habits
These give the urge something else to do. Rather than resisting, you rehearse a competing action until it arrives before the old one does.
Some are games. A short game competes for the same mental resources a craving needs, which measurably cuts how intense the craving feels. Play Drift is one of these.
Challenges that shift mood through movement
Low mood tells you to withdraw and wait until you feel like moving. It works the other way around: the motivation arrives after you move.
These challenges are deliberately small, often ten minutes of walking, because the point is the shift, not the exercise.
Challenges that calm the body first
When you are too activated to think clearly, thinking harder does not help. These regulate the body first, using breathing patterns or progressive muscle relaxation.
You rate how you feel before and after, so you can see the change rather than take our word for it.
Why today's is the one you got
What you get is built from what you have said and, if you have connected it, how your body is doing. A day when your sleep was poor is not the day for the hardest thing on the list.
It starts where you are and moves as you do, which is why the challenges change over the weeks rather than repeating.
Points
Each challenge carries points, shown on the card before you start it. They mark what you have done. Nothing is taken away for a day you miss.
If you miss a day
Nothing is lost and nothing resets. Pick it up when you are next able to. Missing days is ordinary and the roadmap is built to absorb it.
